EVENING WEAR

Inspired by the timeless designs of John Galanos, this eveningwear dress pays homage to the late designer.  In a nod to the high quality designs found throughout his many collections, silk chiffon and pleating mesh together in a mix of femininity and rigidity.  Pleating adds detail and silk chiffon creates a luxurious yet free feeling.  Deceivingly simple, many of his designs are made of minimal shapes and yet are made with incredibly precise details and craftsmanship.  This dress is made up of basic patterns layered on top of one another to create dimension and interest.  In staying true to its inspiration, this dress uses baby hems, french seaming, and bias bound hems.
